Academic Regalia and Collection

Graduands are to wear Murdoch University academic regalia available from the Alumni Centre.

Masters (Gown, Hood and Mortar Board) $125 $340
Doctoral (Gown, Hood and Tudor Bonnet) $145 $470
Prices are in Australian dollars and include postage and handling

A discount is available for online payment. Go to MyInfo, click on Graduations and Graduation Regalia Hire. Hired regalia MUST be returned immediately after the Ceremony or a charge will be incurred.

In MyInfo, click on ‘Graduations’ and follow the links. Alternatively, you can download a copy of the Attendance and Regalia Order Confirmation form.

All profits from the sale and hire of academic regalia are used to benefit members of the Alumni Association.

A refund may be made if notice of your non-attendance is given to the Alumni Centre prior to the ceremony. An administrative fee of $20 will be deducted from the refund.

Regalia Collection Time

Wednesday 28 October 2009

2:00pm onwards

Regalia is to be collected from the Canning Room, (Level 4) Raffles City Convention Centre.

Tickets

Guest tickets: You are allocated 3 guest tickets at no charge which are to be collected with your regalia. You can purchase extra tickets at AU$25 per ticket when you confirm your attendance at the ceremony. (No guest tickets will be on sale in Singapore).

If you are providing your own regalia you can collect your guest tickets when you register for the ceremony.

Your ticket: Your ticket is in addition to your guest tickets and is to be collected from the Registration Desk when you arrive for your ceremony.

Your Name

If you want to ensure that your name is pronounced correctly during the ceremony, please advise the Graduations Office of the correct pronunciation at least a week before the ceremony.

Aged, Disabled and Wheelchair Access

If either you or any of your guests are a wheelchair user, have a mobility issue or require special seating arrangements, please advise the Graduations Office at least a week before the ceremony so that suitable seating may be allocated for you and/or your guests.

Ceremony Registration

You must register at the Registration Desk in the Raffles Ballroom Foyer from 5:30pm to 6:15pm. Graduands will be admitted to the Ballroom at 6.30pm for a briefing. If you are not registered by 6:45pm you will not be able to participate in the ceremony.

Doctoral graduands are to register in the VIP Lounge A, located adjacent to the Raffles Ballroom Foyer, by 6:30pm to join the academic procession into the auditorium.

The Graduation Ceremony

The Ceremony will commence at 7:00pm and will be conducted by the Chancellor.

An on-stage photograph will be taken as the Chancellor presents you with your certificate. Detailed instructions of your participation in the ceremony will be provided when you collect your Regalia and guest tickets.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Photography, Video and Framing

Photographic services will be available before and after the Ceremony.

Statement of Academic Record

The Statement of Academic Record is a complete record of your studies at Murdoch University including details of the courses you have completed and the majors and minors you have completed as part of each course.

One free copy will be provided with your graduation certificate. Additional copies can be ordered when you confirm your attendance at the ceremony.

Confirmation of Completion of Studies

The Confirmation of Completion of Studies letter is primarily used by students wishing to apply for Permanent Residency status.

Confirmation of Receipt of Payment

An email will be sent to your MyInfo email address to confirm receipt of your confirmation/payment and your ceremony details. If you use the student email account provided by the University you should note that these expire 2 months after the end of semester. Please update MyInfo with an active email address to receive University emails after that date.
