Calver Family Scholarship

The Calver Family Scholarship was established in 2008 and is available for award to a student eligible to enrol in an Honours course in the School of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, with a research project focusing on animal ecology.

One scholarship of $4,000 per year is available, payable as a lump sum in Semester One.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Calver Family Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be eligible to enrol full-time in one of the following Honours level Bachelor of Science courses:
    • Conservation and Wildlife Biology (H1150), OR
    • Biological Sciences (H1029), OR
    • Marine Sciences (H1039)
    AND
  • Be researching in the area of animal ecology, AND
  • Have a record of high achievement in previous study or professional work, AND
  • Be an Australian Citizen

Selection Criteria

Each of the following will be taken into consideration in the selection of the successful applicant:

  • The summary of intended research project;
  • One and no more than two written reference(s) from an academic qualified to comment on the applicant's academic progress, and/or a current/past employer;
  • A personal statement of no more than one A4 page demonstrating why the applicant should be the successful candidate, including how the scholarship will enable the achievement of personal goals, academic success and planned career pathway.

If there are two applications on equal standing, financial need will be taken into consideration.
