Murdoch Senate Scholarships

Applications for Semester Two will open on July 27 2009

Murdoch University introduced the Murdoch Senate Scholarship (formerly known as the Murdoch Equity Scholarship) in 2005 to assist students in financial hardship with some of the costs of studying. Murdoch's Senate recognises the achievements of students who live with, and overcome, disadvantage to study at Murdoch.

Murdoch Senate Scholarships are awarded to applicants who are eligible for but ranked just below the cut-off in the allocation of the Commonwealth Scholarships.

Students who apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship are automatically considered for a Murdoch Senate Scholarship, and the eligibility requirements, application and selection processes are the same. Students are not required to submit an additional application form for these Scholarships, as all students who apply for but do not receive a Commonwealth Scholarship will be considered. Commonwealth Scholarship guidelines apply equally to Murdoch Senate Scholarships.

Students awarded the Murdoch Senate Scholarship will receive $2000 in two lump sum payments in Week 7 of each semester for two semesters.

Students cannot receive a Commonwealth Scholarship and a Murdoch Senate Scholarship at the same time.
