Vet Alumni 4^th Year Scholarship

The 4^th Year of the Veterinary program marks the transition to clinical science and comes with significant additional hard work and expenses. This scholarship, established through donations from the Veterinary Alumni, will provide support for a 4^th Year Vet student facing demonstrable economic hardship.

Scholarship Value

In 2010 the Vet Alumni 4^th Year Scholarship will be valued at $1,000.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Vet Alumni 4^th Year Scholarship, students must:

• Be enrolled at Murdoch University at the date of application.
• Have successfully completed Year 1 & Year 2 of BSc (Vet Biology), having achieved passing scores in all third year units to date.
• Provide a personal statement of their goals, and outlining any circumstances of personal and/or financial hardship.

Selection Criteria

The following will be taken into consideration by the Selection panel:

• Demonstrable economic hardship;
• Potential impact the scholarship will have on student success in their 4th year, or fulfilment of personal goals;
• Satisfactory academic progress.

As a condition of acceptance, students will be required to present a report, written thank you, or presentation to vet alumni donors.

Students will be notified as to the outcome of their application in January 2010.
