Jacqui Wharton Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2008 by Ms Jacqui Wharton who successfully undertook studies at Murdoch University despite being diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder. Ms Wharton has since established an organisation that is committed to addressing stigma attached to mental health issues, and to the support of people living with mental illness.

In 2009 Ms Wharton offers one student who is a current consumer of a mental health service a $1,000 lump sum as support and encouragement to continue their tertiary education.

Eligibility

Applications are invited from those students who are:-

• enrolled in minimum of 6 points per semester in an Undergraduate Course;
  and
• a current consumer of a mental health service;
  and
• able to demonstrate personal and/or financial hardship;
  and
• an Australian Citizen
